Chinese vice minister wraps up Nepal visit

KATHMANDU, Aug. 14: Chinese Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs, Fu Ying on Tuesday wrapped up her week-long visit to Nepal and left for China.



Ms Ying had arrived here to attend the ninth meeting of the Nepal-China Foreign Secretary Level Consultative Mechanism. She was leading a seven-member delegation. [break]



During her visit, she held separate meetings with the Prime Minister, the Deputy Prime Minister and top leaders of major political parties.



During her meeting with the Prime Minister, the Chinese Vice-minister had assured that China would continue to give priority to Nepal´s economic and infrastructure development as per the agreement reached during Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao´s visit to Nepal in January.



Ying also visited Lumbini, the birth place of Lord Buddha, and expressed her commitment for Lumbini´s development.



She was seen off by Chinese Ambassador to Nepal Yang Houlan and top officials at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
