
Chinese ambassador to Nepal Qui Guohong handed over the equipments to Youth and Sports Minister Ganesh Tiwari Nepali on behalf of NWA. Ambassador Guohong said the SAG results showed Nepalis are improving in wushu -- which is linked with the Chinese tradition -- and expressed that the equipments handed over to Nepal would further enhance the competitiveness of Nepali wushu. “This is a symbol of sports exchange and cooperation and China is always ready to help Nepal,” said Guohong.
NWA President Ang Dendi Sherpa thanked the Chinese government for the equipments and also for the training of Nepali wushu team in China ahead of the SAG. “Chinese government´s sponsorship for our players helped us a lot,” he said.
Among the 10 wushu players of Nepal in the SAG, six had secured medals for Nepal, which included two golds. Gold medalists Binita Maharjan and Ang Babu Lama received Rs 10,000 each from NWA. Likewise, silver medalists Bikash Gurung and Purushottam Rijal bagged Rs 5,000 while bronze medalists Elina Chaudhary and Jharana Gurung were awarded Rs 3,000 each. Other members of the team were Sami Lama, Birsingh Tamang, Premchand Darlami and Raju Maharjan.

National Sports Council Member Secretary Hari Babu Chaudhary gave away letter of appreciation to coaches Prakash Bahadur Lama and Ganesh Prasad Aryal.
