Stating that Nepal and China share a “problem-free” relation, Shrestha said he told Vice Minister Fu that the friendly relations subsisting between the two countries can be further strengthened.

Nepal and China have established two separate bilateral mechanisms -- one secretary level and the other minister level. The meeting of foreign secretary level mechanism established in 1966 is held every four years alternatively in Beijing and Kathmandu.

Nepal and China will review the status of implementation of various agreements reached between the two countries during the brief visit of Chinese premier Wen Jiabao in January. "The meeting will review what has been done and what needs to be done o implement the agreements," said Shrestha.

Issues of economic cooperation between the two countries will also be discussed at the meeting. Prior to the meeting with Minister Shrestha, the delegation had also held a meeting with Foreign Secretary Durga Prasad Bhattarai.

According to Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA), the Chinese delegation is scheduled to visit Lumbini on Sunday and hold a bilateral consultative mechanism meeting with Nepalese side at Yak and Yeti Hotel on Monday morning. The delegation will return home on Tuesday after completing its four-day visit to Nepal.
