“With the fresh revision in prices, chicken price has climbed to Rs 215 per kg,” said Janga Bahadur BC, general secretary of the capital-based Chicken Sellers´ Association.
After the new revision, poultry farmers will get Rs 150 per kg.
BC said they had to raise prices due to shortage in the market despite lower demand.
Supplies of chicken in the capital hover around 800,000 heads per day against the demands of 1.4 million heads, according to the entrepreneurs.
