“At first, the store will be opened in Minbhawan followed by Babermahal and Thamel. In a ddition to that we are planning to open 10 to 12 outlets in the valley within a year ,” informed Chandra Sekhar Shrestha,” purchase in-charge of the Mart. [break]
He added that the company plans to open around 300 to 400 outlet within 3 years.
The store will have imported and local grocery items, cosmetics and toiletries, liquors, tobacco among others and will be located in densely populated area to make it easy for the customers. In addition, the store will have ready to eat items and bakery to fulfill the need of the people who are busy and prefers readymade foods.
The store will be opening from 7 am to 11 pm to make it easier for the working customers to shop before and after office hours.
According to Shrestha, convenience store is mostly opened in densely populated area in the Western countries and the concept will soon be very popular in Nepal as the people do not have to travel much to get the daily needed items.
He added that the store will display wide range of products at affordable price and will make people aware that shopping at the convenience store is not expensive.
The stores will be spread over an area of around 800 to 1,500 sq ft and Chaudhary Group is investing Rs 1 million per store.
