“We have decided to meet again after the three-party meeting on Wednesday,” said UML Chairman Jhalanath Khanal after the meeting.[break]
Maoist Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal, who heads the party´s dispute resolution subcommittee, was not present at the meeting.
“The leaders stated that the disputed issues would be taken up at the meeting of the three-party meeting on Wednesday. So we decided to hold the meeting on Thursday,” CC Chairman Nilambar Acharya told Republica.
During the meeting, Acharya had suggested that the issues already resolved by the CC subcommittee be forwarded to the CA for voting. “Since many of the decisions taken by the subcommittee have been scrapped, we should forward them to the full CA meeting,” said Acharya.
He said that the CC meeting to be held on Thursday is likely to forward the disputed issues to the CA.
The top leaders of the three major parties -- Maoist Chairman Dahal, NC President Sushil Koirala and UML Chairman Khanal -- have currently been holding meetings to reach a package agreement on peace, constitution and power sharing.
