KATHMANDU, Feb 16: Constitutional Council (CC) meeting on Thursday failed to make appointments on vacant posts of the statutory bodies.

The meeting has directed to make necessary changes on the criteria to make appointments on the statutory bodies.

Earlier, in the bid to make appointments more transparent the CC had decided to develop a transparent mechanism for appointing chiefs and members at various constitutional bodies from among those who have filed candidacy at the Office of Prime Minister and Council of Ministers (OPMCM).

The posts in the statutory bodies have remained vacant since a long time owing to differences between major parties over power-sharing.
