Canal damaged

KANCHANPUR, July 23: An under-construction canal of the Mahakali Irrigation Project (MIP) has been demolished by floods that have inundated the Chure region of Kanchanpur.



The floods have damaged five-meter stretch of the 12.7 km canal, which links India´s Tanakpur to Nepal´s Gauji, in Bhimdutta municipality.



The project office has halted the canal´s work.
