CAN Federation urges govt to improve fuel availability

KATHMANDU, Nov 1: Shortage of petroleum products is hitting country's information technology (IT) industry severely, Computers Association of Nepal (CAN) Federation said in a press statement issued on Sunday.



The statement said companies were facing problem in transportation of IT products due to fuel shortage.

"As companies have not been able to import latest products and services, it has hampered the development of technology in Nepal. It is also leading to revenue loss for the government," the statement added.


Companies like Internet service providers (ISPs), hardware and software companies, and those involved in telecommunications, power solutions, IT accessories, and sales and distribution, have been facing problems in providing services to their clients, according to the federation.


It has requested all stakeholders and the government to resolve the problem at the earliest.
