Home Net Nepal (HNN), active in the field of home-based workers, Saturday decided to collect 22,000 signatures within a year to mount pressure on the government to ratify the convention.
The announcement was made amid a program "Journey from Khokana to Geneva" held in Lalitpur on the occasion of the Internatioal Labor Day.
Om Thapaliya, HNN executive director, said the signatures will be taken to the ILO Head Office in Geneva next year.
He said ratification of the convention was necessary to ensure social security and minimum wages, among other welfare issues, of the workers.
Nepal is a signatory to the convention but hasn´t ratified yet.
