Cabinet approves 16th Plan Implementation Action Plan

Unveiling the major decisions of the Cabinet meeting on Wednesday, Minister for Home Affairs Om Prakash Aryal said that two under-secretaries have been promoted and appointed to the position of Gazetted First Class Officers in the country’s judicial service.

KATHMANDU, Feb 25: A Cabinet meeting held on Tuesday approved the 16th Plan Implementation Action Plan (2081 BS–2086 BS).



Unveiling the major decisions of the Cabinet meeting on Wednesday, Minister for Home Affairs Om Prakash Aryal said that two under-secretaries have been promoted and appointed to the position of Gazetted First Class Officers in the country’s judicial service.


The decision was made on the recommendation of the Judicial Service Commission, said Minister Aryal, who is also the government spokesperson.

Aryal also mentioned that two Lieutenant Colonels of the Nepali Army have been promoted to the rank of Colonel, while two Colonels have been transferred.


Furthermore, Aryal informed that the tenure of the commission formed to investigate the Supreme Court’s order related to the transport sector has been extended by one month.


The Cabinet also decided that if security personnel or election police sustain injuries during the March 5 House of Representatives (HoR) election, the government will bear the cost of their treatment. In the event of death, the dependent families of the deceased will be provided with financial assistance.


Announcing other key decisions, Minister Aryal said that the government has designated the District Courts in all 77 districts to resolve cases related to offences under Section 140 of the Insurance Act, 2079 BS.


The government also decided to exempt taxes on the Kalanki–Basundhara stretch of the Kathmandu Ring Road Improvement Project, which is being undertaken with grant assistance from the Government of China.


Additionally, the minister said that the government has decided to organise the 10th National Games at an appropriate time after the House of Representatives election.
