CA teams to travel to villages Friday

KATHMANDU, Feb 26: Five hundred and seventy four members of the Constituent Assembly (CA) will start traveling to villages on Friday to collect public opinion on the content of the new constitution.



The members divided in 40 different groups will be carrying 30-page-long questionnaire to collect opinion for 10 thematic committees and the constitutional committee. The committees that comprise seven to 29 members will reach villages, hold interaction with the people and make them fill the questionnaire.



All the CA members except CA chair, vice-chair, prime minister and ministers have been deployed. The latter have been given privilege to join the groups whichever they wish and wherever they want.



Nepali Congress President Girija Prasad Koirala will participate in the opinion collection process in Kathmandu Valley while Chairman of Communist Party of Nepal (Unified Marxist-Leninist) Jhalanath Khanal will be visiting Makwanpur and Chitwan. Maoist deputy leader in the CA leader Narayan Kaji Shrestha will visit Gorkha and Dhading districts and senior Nepali Congress leader Sher Bahadur Deuba will visit Baitadi and Darchula.
