GULMI, Jan. 14: President Dr Ram Baran Yadav has said that the sovereign constituent assembly (CA) was dissolved due to our own weaknesses and it should be corrected.

"Sovereign CA was dissolved due to our mistakes. Institution of the President is with us. But, constitution writing process has been obstructed," the President said.

The President further said, "We (political parties and Institution of the President) all have come here by joining hands together and we have no other option to uniting to safeguard the achievements."

President Dr Yadav, who came here to take a holy bath at Ruru Region on Monday, said that the political parties have no other option to join hands to draft a constitution, as he has understood the country and politics.

Saying that problems were created due to lack of institutionalization of achievements despite major changes, the President suggested that the political parties should go to people by institutionalizing the achievement of People´s Movement-II.

"Our history is prideful. People are hard working. The whole world knows us. But, we failed to manage and institutionalize the political changes of 2007 and 2046 B.S," he added.

We have to go to the people as early as possible if we succeed in safeguarding the changes of 2063 B.S, he said.

The President also expressed confidence to give an outlet by remaining within the constitutional boundary by coordinating with all.

President Dr Yadav said his responsibility was to give an outlet by coordinating with all sides concerned and keeping national interest in mind after considering country´s history, geography and political upheavals.

"I have come with you with this commitment and will be back by taking the same wishes," the President further said.

The President reiterated that fresh elections should be held by forging a consensus among the political parties as early as possible.

Ruru region, one of the four Dham, is very important in natural historical and religious aspects and initiatives taken to enlist in the world heritage list should be given a final touch, the President said.

The President was of the view that Gulmi could be developed as well by building water reservoirs, making it a tourist destination, promoting agricultural productions, and conserving forest and environment.

Chief Secretary Leela Mani Poudyal, President´s personal secretary Lalit Basnet, President´s daughter Anita Yadav, former minister Pradip Gyawali and others had accompanied the President during his trip to Ridi.

On the occasion, the President honoured Man Bahadur Chundara with the best artist of the district award.

The President took a holy bath in the Kali Gandaki river, worshipped at the Rishikesh Temple, and visited and inquired information about Dev Dutta Park and Ruru Sanskrit Bidhyapith.
