Butwal-Belhiya road to go six-lane

BUTWAL, Nov 22: The government has expedited the work to upgrade the Butwal-Belhiya road into six lanes.



According to Suraj Sigdel, chief of the Butwal-Belhiya Road Project, three construction companies that had won contracts for upgrading different sections of the Butwal-Belhiya road have already started their work. [break]



"Works are now afoot from both sides -- Butwal and Belhiya," Sigdel said. The 27 km-road is expected to be widened to a six-lane road in the next three years. It is estimated that Rs 3 billion will be required to upgrade the road, which runs through Bhairahawa bazaar.
