Issuing a press statement on Sunday, Confederation of Nepalese Industries (CNI) said the country has lost a statesman and the guardian and that the business community has lost the person who introduced liberal economic policy with the demise of Koirala. CNI organized a program on the day to pay tribute to the octogenarian leader who passed away on Saturday.
International Chamber of Commerce (ICC)-Nepal termed Koirala as an exemplary figure, who architected economic reforms in the country by introducing liberal economic policies. It also hailed the role played by Koirala in safeguarding national sovereignty, strengthening multiparty democracy and institutionalizing republican system in the country.
Issuing a statement, it said the business sector had suffered a huge loss with the demise of Koirala who always maintained close affiliation with business people and played significant role in bringing in foreign investment in the country.
