The ´Introductory Training on Economic and Financial Reporting for Journalists´ was organized jointly by Securities Board of Nepal (SEBON) and Society of Economic Journalists-Nepal (SEJON) to strengthen capacity of journalists in reporting of financial and capital market issues. A total 32 business journalists from different media houses had participated in the training.
Speaking on the occasion, Surbir Paudel, chairman of SEBON, assured his organisation´s support for more trainings to strengthen the capacity of business journalists. Narayan Sapkota, president of SEJON, asked SEBON to help conduct different levels of training to businesses journalists based on their experience and capacity.

Citizens Bank announces rights shares
KATHMANDU, Sept 15: Citizens Bank International Ltd on Tuesday declared a net profit of Rs 15.8 million and an operating profit of Rs 184.5 million in fiscal year 2008/09. The 3rd annual general meeting (AGM) of the bank held Tuesday also approved distribution of 10 percent dividend to shareholders and a 1:1 rights issue.
Issuing a statement, the bank said it collected Rs 11.52 billion in deposits and mobilized Rs 8.21 billion in loans.The bank is also planning to operate at least one branch in each zone and have 30 branches within two years.
The bank currently has 17 branches. Citizens Bank also has a Sun Karja scheme from its branches in Biratnagar, New Road and Bauddha, it said.
