Yogendra Shakya, national coordinator of the campaign, told a press meet on Tuesday that the campaign would be officially launched in Pokhara on 11 April. The committee also plans to launch the campaign in Nepalgunj, Bhairahawa, Biratnagar and within a month. [break]
Shakya said they were planning to welcome 700,000 tourists via air and 300,000 visitors via land routes. Organizers have set a target of welcoming one million visitors in 2011.
A total of 103,944 tourists entered the country via air in the first three months of 2010, according to Nepal Tourism Board. “If the arrival continues to grow at this pace, we can confidently meet the target,” Shakya said.
Sunrise Bank in Gothatar
KATHMANDU, April 6: Sunrise Bank Limited has established its 31st branch in Gothatar in Kathmandu.
“We opened the branch in Gothatar because it is an expanding market rapidly seeing urbanization,” Suman Neupane, general manager of the bank, said in a statement.
The branch is operating 32 ATMs across the country.
NMB opens branch in Nepalgunj
KATHMANDU, April 6: NMB Bank Limited has opened its first branch in Nepalgunj.
Issuing a press statement on Tuesday, the bank said its CEO Upendra Poudel inaugurated the branch. The new branch will prove fast and efficient banking services to its customers.
The bank plans to add three more branches within the current fiscal year, the statement added.
Siddhartha Dev Bank starts locker facility
KATHMANDU, April 6: Siddhartha Development Bank has started providing Safe Deposit (Locker) facilities to its customers from its head office.
The bank, which started service a decade ago as a regional bank, has been able to upgrade itself to a national bank. The bank operates with 15 branches across the country.
“Apart from core banking services like collecting deposits and lending, the bank also provides other services like mobile banking, ATM services and remittance services,” the bank said in a statement on Tuesday.
The bank plans to provide locker facilities to its customers from all its branches in the coming days.
