BUSINESS BRIEFS: IMF to oversee Nepal from New Delhi

KATHMANDU, July 27: International Monetary Fund (IMF) that oversees Nepal operations through local resident representative has decided that it will oversee the country operations from New Delhi from October 31, 2010.



Issuing a statement, IMF Resident Representative Alexander Pitt said that after his term in Nepal ends on October 31, the IMF will maintain a locally staffed office in the Nepal Rastra Bank and oversee the country operations from New Delhi. [break]



“The decision was made in context of the Fund´s reorientation towards a more regional focus, its efforts to strengthen surveillance with an increased focus on multilateral aspects and budgetary considerations,” reads the statement.



Pitt has categorically noted that the decision is completely unrelated to the current political or economic situation in Nepal. It will have no impact on the IMF´s relations with Nepal and on the work that it does in the country, according to the statement.





New Yamaha showroom in Charikot



KATHMANDU, July 27: Morang Auto Works, the authorized sole distributor for Yamaha motorcycles in Nepal, has opened its new showroom -- P & P Auto Enterprises -- at Charikot, Dolakha.



Rameshwar Manandhar, chairman of Dolakha Chamber of Commerce and Industries, inaugurated the showroom on Monday, Morang Auto Works said in a statement.



“The new showroom offers proper valuation for any kind of old bikes, easy financing facilities to its valued customers and also sells all available models of Yamaha motorcycles,” the statement added.



Coinciding with the inauguration of new showroom, P & P Auto Enterprises is organizing Yamaha Super Exchange Camp from July 26 to July 28 in the showroom itself.



In the exchange camp, the company is providing Rs 10,000 cash discount on the purchase of FZ series model and Rs 5,000 cash discount with the purchase of other models, spot finance from various reputed finance companies and spot exchange from various reputed recondition houses, the statement added.
