BUSINESS BRIEFS: Hetauda Industries Association joins CNI

KATHMANDU, Aug 27: Hetauda Industries Association (HIA), Makawanpur, has affiliated itself with Confederation of Nepalese Industries (CNI), says a press release.



The CNI granted the institutional membership to the association at a program that HIA organized to felicitate CNI officials in Hetauda. Rishi Ghimire, president of HIA, said CNI has played effective role in raising the concerns of industries. [break]



CNI President Binod Chaudhary said that the CNI would continue to expand its presence and membership in different districts of the country in the days to come to add strength to its policy inputs to the government and address concerns of industries.





Arkefly to resume Nepal flights



KATHMANDU, Aug 27: Arkefly has decided to resume its scheduled flights to Nepal.



Issuing a press statement on Friday, the Dutch carrier said it would operate flights between Amsterdam and Kathmandu from October 2010 to April 2011. The airline will fly to Kathmandu on Fridays and leave for Amsterdam from Friday on Saturdays.



Last year, Arkefly had provided service to 3,000 passengers, according to the statement.



The airline is expected to bring in European visitors and contribute to Nepal Tourism Year 2011. Malla Travels and Trek Service - the general sales agent of Arkefly in Nepal - is offering special tour packages and special introductory airfares on the first three flights departing from Kathmandu, according to the statement.





UTL´s affordable int´l tariff



KATHMANDU, Aug 27: United Telecom (UTL) is extending its offer of affordable international tariffs in ten countries at Rs 4 per minute.



According to a press statement issued by the company, subscribers can make a call at Rs 4 round the clock in countries like USA, Canada, China, Singapore, Hong Kong, Thailand, Malaysia, South Korea, Bangladesh and Macau through UTL´s U-SIM. Subscribers can make a call to India at just Rs 3 per minute.



UTL that has been providing unbelievable lowest call tariff with best voice quality in a congestion-free network in its local, DLD and ILD services has launched this scheme with a slogan UTL-Telephone for All.



“We have become market leaders on the quality international trunk services from Nepal to the rest of world. We will continue to provide more and more such services in the coming days,” the statement quoted Madan Singh, general manager of UTL.



To avail the new international tariff, customers have to dial 1220 instead of 00 followed by respective country code, the statement added.
