BUSINESS BRIEFS: Budhanilkantha wins Real's 3rd regional finals

KATHMANDU, Sept 6: Real School of Nepal-2012, a national level competition being organized by Real Fruit Juice, Nepal´s leading fruit juice brand, has declared Budhanilkantha Public Boarding School the overall winner school for the central region.



"They will participate in the grand finale which will be held in Kathmandu to compete with the winners from other regions," Dabur Nepal, the manufacturer of Real Fruit Juice, said issuing a press statement on Friday.[break]



The central region competition concluded on Thursday. The competition was held in Budhanilkantha School and students who participated from the winning schools were Anjila Sherpa, Chandan Malik, Bijay Parakheti, Saket Karki and Prashant and Nobel Rana.



The individual winners of the 3rd regional finals included senior students, namely Anjila Thapa (LRI School), Rashila Gharti Magar (Rising Star HS School) and Anil Chaudhary (Siddhartha Banasthali), and junior students, including Nobel Rana (Budhanilkantha PB School), Sutrim Shrestha (Cambridge International School) and Shanta Thapa Magar (Gyankunja HS School).



Real Fruit Juice has been organizing the competition, launched on August 2, 2012, for nurturing talent and confidence among school children. The competition´s regional finals for eastern and western regions has already been concluded. The grand finale will be held on September 25, 2012 in Kathmandu.



Global IME Bank proposes 13% dividend



KATHMANDU
: Global IME Bank has proposed to give away 13 percent dividend to its shareholders from net profit earned in the last fiscal year ended July 15. Of this, 10 percent will be in the form of cash, while the rest three percent will be in the form of bonus shares, says a bank statement. A decision in this regard was taken by a meeting of the bank´s board of directors held recently. It will now be forwarded to the bank´s upcoming annual general meeting. The bank generated a net profit of Rs 352.1 million in the last fiscal year.



Janata Bank to give away 3.68% cash dividend



KATHMANDU
: A board meeting of Janata Bank has decided to give away a cash dividend of 3.68 percent from net profit earned in the last fiscal year. The returns will be formally handed over to shareholders once the board´s decision is approved by the upcoming annual general meeting. The 27th commercial bank of the country generated a net profit of Rs 57.3 million in the last fiscal year ended July 15. The bank collected deposits of Rs 7.72 billion and extended Rs 7.46 billion in loans till the end of last fiscal year.



RBB appoints acting executive director



KATHMANDU
: Rastriya Banijya Bank (RBB) has appointed Jyoti Chandra Ojha as its acting executive director, according to a bank statement. Ojha previously held the position of deputy executive director at the state-owned banking institution. Likewise, Madhav Raj Pant, Gopal Chandra Sharma, Girija Nanda Paneru and Bhesh Raj Panthi have been promoted to the post of acting deputy general manager at the bank, the statement says.



Nepal SBI Bank to give away dividend



KATHMANDU
: Nepal SBI Bank has decided to distribute 12.5 percent bonus shares for every 100 units of shares and five percent cash dividend on paid-up capital, according to a bank statement. The decision was taken by a meeting of bank´s board of directors held on Wednesday. The bank generated a net profit of Rs 480.10 million in the last fiscal year.



Sale at Springwood



KATHMANDU
: Surya Nepal has announced sale on springwood apparels, offering discounts of up to 50 percent in a bid to boost its sales in the festive season. The offer is available at all Springwood exclusive outlets, the company said issuing a press statement on Friday. Springwood has a wide range of apparels such as shirt, t-shirt, trousers, jeans, sweatshirts and among others. The offer will remain valid for a limited period, the statement said.
