Both the runners had claimed a gold medal each in the 1,500m race on Wednesday. Ram Bahadur Tamang of Western Region and Madan Prakash Chand of Mid-western Region finished second and third in the boys´ section, while Kalpana Dhakal of Far-western Region and Sangita Khadka of Central Region lagged behind Budha in the girls´ section.
Likewise, Ajay Shrestha of Eastern Region and Krishna Chaudhary of Western Region won the 200m sprint in the boys´ and girls´ sections respectively. Shrestha clocked 23.4 seconds, while Chaudhary completed the sprint in 27.9 seconds to claim her second gold in the tournament. She had won the 100m sprint on Wednesday.
Binod Gurung of Western Region emerged victorious in the boys´ 400m sprint with a timing of 53.4 seconds in the tournament organized by the National Sports Council at Dasharath Stadium under the initiative of Ministry of Youth and Sports.
Anuraj Kumar Tharu (Mid-west) won gold in boys´ javelin throw event while Anju Kumari Dagaura (West) clinched gold in the girls´ section.
Suraj Singh of Far-west claimed gold in boys´ triple jump after covering 12.83m while Prabha Chaudhary bagged gold in girls´ long jump.
Meanwhile, Central Region set up final clashes with Western Region in both the boys´ and girls´ volleyball.
