Talking to Republica, Madhesi people´s Rights Forum (MPRF) Spokesperson Ratneshwor Lal Kayastha said that the budget would do nothing for overall development of the country. Stating that the present caretaker government was moving ahead unilaterally, Kayastha said they would launch agitations if political parties could not forge consensus on ending the current political and constitutional deadlock. Chairman of Sadbhawana Party-Anandi Devi Sarita Giri termed the budget as "economic corruption".
"The government cannot allocate budget for election without first announcing the date for polls," stated Giri, adding, "This is an economic corruption." Central committee member of National Madhes Socialist Party (NMSP) Pramod Gupta was of the view that the government should not have introduced the budget without political consensus.
"Of course, budget is necessary to run the country but it should have been brought only after reaching a political consensus," he added.
