BARA, March 25: An association of the followers of Ram Bahadur Bamjhan, famously known as the Buddha boy, has held two women captive for three months.

Accusing the two of trying to distract Bamjan from meditation, Bodhi Shrawan Dharma Association has held 35-year-old foreigner Marichi and Aani from Sindhupalchowk district captive.

According to the Area Police Simara, a complaint was filed against the association for holding captive the two women in Halkhoriya Jungle. The police said they are investigating the matter.

“We talked to a few members of the association and they told that the women were held captive for trying to distract Bamjan from meditation and that they would be freed on March 28,” said a police personnel at the area police office.

Marichi had come all the way from Slovakia to pay visit to Bamjan on May 2010.

According to eyewitnesses, Marichi was forcefully taken to Halkhoriya on a motorbike by two members of the association. The locals stated that she has broken her hands, looks scared and is in pathetic condition.

In Aani´s case, the followers of Bamjan not only held her captive but also accused her of being a witch. According to the locals, both the women have been kept in the same room.
