BRIEF NEWS: British woman falls to death

KATHMANDU, Dec 4: A British national died Saturday night after accidentally falling from fourth floor of a hotel in the capital.



Jennifer Smith, 22, fell off the window of a room on the fourth floor of Tibet Holiday Inn when she was partying with her 15 friends. [break]



Police involved in investigating the case said prima facie it seemed like an accident.



Rhino stuck in septic tank



CHITWAN: A one-horned rhino got stuck in a septic tank of a hotel in Souraha Sunday morning. The adult male rhino got stuck in the septic tank of Chitwan Park Cottage hotel.



“The rhino would try to come out but could not. It was also scared due to the crowd gathered to see it,” Assistant Conservation officer at the eastern region of Chitwan National Park Lal Bahadur Bhandari, who reached the spot with a team at 2:30 in the morning, said. The rhino finally got out itself after struggling for around one-and-a-half hours.



Man shot dead



MAHENDRANAGAR: A man was killed when the gun his elder brother was carrying went off accidentally. Nar Bahadur Chand, 33, had received bullets fired by Tilak Bahadur´s gun while hunting in the jungle of Mataina in Bhimdutta municipality 9 Saturday night.



Tilak is absconding after the incident. Police have sought help from Indian Police to nab Tilak who is suspected to have fled to Tanakpur, India.



Superintendent of Police (SP) in Kanchanpur Pawan Prasad Kharel said investigation into the incident is on. Locals routinely go to the forest in Chure region of Kanchanpur for hunting and the Chand siblings had also left together with a gun.
