BPKIHS begins telemedicine service

ITAHARI, Oct 6: BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences (BPKIMS has initiated a telemedicine service to ensure health service access of people of eastern mountainous districts through hospitals of the region.

The BPKIHS has completed the preparation for providing health specialist service through internet through district hospitals and health centres operating in eastern mountainous districts including Dhankuta, Udayapur, Siraha and Ilam in the first phase.


The BPKIHS will equip the hospitals and health centres of the eastern mountainous districts with necessary physical and technical resources, said BPKIHS Information Officer Sujendra Tamang.

He shared that the the BPKIHS has completed imparting training on software applicable for the operation of telemedicine service at the Dhankuta District Hospital.

The BPKIHS has initiated providing the service as the telemedicine service would be very useful for the people of remote geographical terrain with low economic strata. RSS
