An 81 MM bomb was found on Thursday morning close to Tribhuwan Janta Higher Secondary School in Khalinga in Rukkum. [break]
This is the third time that a bomb has been found in the area. According to police Inspector Yubaraj Khadka, the bomb was found while a dozer was digging up a road that passes through the school compound.
The bomb was disposed by a bomb disposal squad of the Nepal Army. It is believed that the Army itself planted the bomb to secure the school when they were using it as a barrack.
Three days ago a socket bomb was found in Jang VDC of Rukkum while an improvised explosive was found in Kholagaun in western Rukkum. The bombs have been found in less than a week of the government declaring Nepal a mine-free zone.
The incidents have scared the locals and students and they have been made aware of the findings to avoid any mishap.
