The human chain was organized by the United Democratic Madhesi Front (UDMF) as a form of peaceful protest against the new constitution.According to Ramdev Tiwari, a local of Manara VDC, Kapar had suddenly collapsed while participating in the human chain in Manara VDC-7 and died on the spot.
"We first tried to resuscitate him by sprinkling water and fannning him, but it didn't work. So, we took him to a nearby clinic, where he was pronounced dead by Dr Rup Narayan Bhagat and Dr. Binod Prasad after examination," Tiwari said.
Kapar, a resident of Siswakataiya VDC-8 in Sahasram village, was a farmer by profession.
Another local Radheshyam Jha said that Kapar's wife, two children and his son-in law arrived in Manara upon learning about the death of her husband.
Kapar's son in law, Lal Babu Kapar of Bakhari in Jaleshwar Municapility-14, said that Kapar was not affiliated to any political party.
Meanwhile, the UDMF has demanded that Kapar be declared martyr, compensation be provided to his family members, job for the wife and free education for the children.
