"We decided to come up with drafts of calendar of operation from each party tomorrow and then we will sit together and prepare a common draft and finalize that after further discussions," NC Parliamentary Party leader Ram Chandra Poudel told reporters after the meeting at CA building in New Baneshwar.
The leaders also reached an understanding on the need of fixing the number of members to be appointed for the State Restructuring Commission (SRC) and fix its tenure. The CA calendar of operation will be finalized as per the tenure to be given to the SRC to prepare its report.
"We have agreed to further the discussions on the eight preliminary reports prepared by the CA thematic committees, among other pending works on the constitution drafting," Poudel said. Parties have failed to forward the reports to the Constitutional Committee of the CA due to differences on various crucial issues in the reports. The meeting will be given continuity on Monday morning.
Nembang said he is optimistic that various issues including the calendar of operation and the SRC will be resolved at the Monday meeting.
Deputy Parliamentary Party leader Narayankaji Shrestha, Chief Whip Post Bahadur Bogati and Dev Gurung from Maoist side, Poudel, General Secretary Dr. Ram Sharan Mahat and Chief Whip Laxman Ghimire from NC and Chairman Jhalanath Khanal, Yubraj Karki and Agni Kharel from CPN-UML were present in the meeting.
