Big 3 leaders discuss budget

KATHMANDU, July 11: Leaders of the three major political parties—UCPN (Maoist), Nepali Congress and CPN-UML— on Monday held a discussion on the annual budget that the government plans to table in parliament on July 14.



The discussion, held in the prime ministerial residence in Baluwatar, dwelt on forging a common understanding on the upcoming budget. [break]



On the occasion, the major opposition Nepali Congress is learnt to have asked the other two parties to incorporate its programs in the new fiscal budget before presenting it in the parliament.



Present in the meeting were Prime Minister Jhalanath Khanal, Finance Minister Bharat Mohan Adhikari and Surendra Pandey from the UML and Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal, Vice Chairman Baburam Bhattarai and Home Minister Krishna Bahadur Mahara.from UCPN (Maoist).



Likewise, Parliamentary Party leader Ram Chandra Paudel, leaders Ram Sharan Mahat and Narayan Khadka represented the NC in the meeting.
