Be alert, PM says to secretaries, security chiefs

KATHMANDU, Aug 16: Prime Minister Jhalanath Khanal directed chiefs of all four security bodies to remain on high alert keeping in view the sensitivity and challenges of the present political situation.



Speaking at a meeting also attended by Chief Secretary Madhav Ghimire, Home Secretary Lilamani Poudel and Defence Secretary Nabin Ghimire, among others, at the his office on Tuesday, the PM said that politics of the country has entered to a new phase following his resignation. [break]



"We have to be on high alert in the present condition," PM Khanal said.



Though present security situation of the country is satisfactory, one has to be alert as a small incident can even lead to untoward incidents, the PM said at the meeting.
