Perspective of the society towards the Badi women has changed with the changes in their lifestyle. Flesh trade is considered as the occupation of the Badi women." Now, women of our community are no longer in flesh trade and our efforts are aimed at preventing the future general to join this occupation,´´ said local social worker Manju Nepali.
The Badi women here have formed "Peace Women Development Multipurpose Cooperatives´ and established a chocolate factory which shows that they (Badis) have no more interest in their forced occupation and have a desire to live a respectful life.
The Save the Children Banke, UNESCO Club, local women development office and the Lumani organsations have jointly provided Rs. 350,000 to them to establish the factory.
Similarly, Youth Motivational Group and the Srijana Child Clun have launched social awareness campaigns aimed at bringing the Badi children and youths into the stream of education and social development.
