Dr. Deepchandra Bhaumik, Bangladeshi Ambassador to Nepal, hoisted the national flag to the opening session of the programme. In order to commemorate the day, the Embassy drew up programmes in three layers, Morning Session, Press Meet, and Hoisting of Reception. [break]
Following the hoisting of the national flag, recitation from the Holy books such as the Quran, Geeta, and Tripitok, Bangladeshi national song, and combined prayers were offered for the salvation of the departed souls of the martyred of the Liberation war.
Prayers were also offered for the success of the government as well as the peace, progress and prosperity of the Bangladeshi people and the country.
During the opening session, messages from the Bangladeshi president, prime minister and foreign minister in the name of the country and its people were read out.
On the occasion, contribution of the father of the nation Bangabandhu Seikh Mijibur Rahman, his historic role in the emergence of the Bangladesh as an independent nation in the globe was discussed.
At the programme, Dr. Bhaumik discussed Nepal´s moral support for the independence of Bangladesh during the war of 1971 was also vividly recollected and gratitude from the people of Bangladesh was expressed.
Forhadul Slam, Minister and DCM of the Embassy recalled the contribution of the late Nepali leaders and former Prime Ministers BP Koirala and GP Koirala.
