BAN alleged that the government has been discriminating against the radios at the policy and attitudinal levels.[break]
The association decided at the Zonal level Discussion Program here on Sunday to take the initiative for making the programs set by the BAN Central Committee successful. The discussion program was organized to discuss among all the member radio stations about the decisions taken by the central committee recently.
On the occasion, BAN advisor Gopal Jha called upon all the members of BAN to be united against the discriminatory attitude of the government towards the independent radio stations.
Senior vice-president of BAN, Mahendra Narayan Shrestha, alleged that the government has discriminated against the ´independent´ radio stations in allocating them the public welfare advertisements.
Coordinator of the BAN struggle committee, Jagat Pokharel, said the association is planning to carry out pressure programmes to make the government listen to the demands of the FM radio stations.
As part of its programs, a deputation of the BAN will meet with the Prime Minister, the Finance Minister and the Chief Secretary to put forth their concerns, in the first phase.
