Ban hopeful for peace

KATHMANMDU, Aug 5: UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon has expressed hope that Nepal will be able to make a concrete progress toward institutionalizing the ongoing peace process and completing the task of constitution writing within the August-end deadline.



In a telephone conversation with Prime Minister Jhalanath Khanal Friday, Ban extended his full support for the ongoing efforts of cementing the peace process by completing the process constitution writing. [break]



On the occasion, Ban also informed the prime minister that Tamrat Samuel, the director of Asia and the Pacific Division Department of Political Affairs of the UN, will soon visit Nepal.



According to a press statement issued by the Office of Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, the prime minister congratulated Ban on his reelection for a second term and thanked him for UN´s continuous support for the peace process.
