The deceased are Surendra Dhami of Dahimandu VDC-7, 28-year-old Man Singh Dhami of Gajari-6, 29-year-old Padamraj Ojha of Shreekedar VDC-2, 18-year-old Keshavraj Joshi of Rim VDC-9, 23-year-old Karan Chand of Giregada-5, 28-year-old Prakash Mahar of Dasharath Chand Municipality-11 and health worker Ramekbal Pandit of Biratnagar. Two others haven´t been identified yet.
Sixteen critically injured passengers are undergoing treatment at Pithauragadh in India.
The ill-fated bus (Na 2 Kha 7547) was heading to Dhangadhi of Kailali from Baitadi headquarters Gothalapani. The accident occurred because the driver was drunk, police said.
Meanwhile, lack of doctors in Baitadi District Hospital has affected post-mortem of the deceased and treatment of the injured. Doctor Surya Bhusal of the hospital is in the capital for the past one and half months. Doctors have been called from from Dadeldhura for post-mortem, a hospital source said.
