Dahal had called Baidya Monday morning to seek an appointment for meeting but Baidya again asked him to create proper atmosphere for talks. Later, politburo meeting close to Baidya faction finalized agenda for talks, according to Khadga Bahadur Bishwakarma.[break]
According to him, the main agenda of the meeting would be reviewing the decisions and ‘mistakes’ made by Dahal. Another agenda will deal with forming a new tactical line of the party and transforming the party.
The meeting also condemned Dahal faction for trying to stop participation of cadres in its conclave scheduled for June 15.
Meanwhile, UCPN (Maoist) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal on Monday complained to his party cadres that Senior Vice-chairman Mohan Baidya had spurned his efforts to meet him to resolve growing rift that is threatening to split the party.
Addressing Workers Special District Committee at Khanna Garment, Dahal claimed he had been trying to meet Baidya after 27 May. Dahal also complained that Baidya had given time to the Nepali Congress and other parties but not him.
"When I phoned Baidya he said he would call the next morning. I waited but he did not call. Then, I phoned Badalji [general secretary Ram Bahadur Thapa] and he also did the same," Lal Dhwaj Nembang, leader of the All Nepal Trade Union Federation (UNTUF), quoted Dahal as saying.
