Baglung people own 500 restaurants in Japan

BAGLUNG, Feb. 22: The number of Nepalis opening restaurants in Japan has gone up of late. They are mostly people from Galkot area in Baglung district who went there for employment. They have opened restaurants in the main cities in Japan including Tokyo, Nagoya, and Osaka, among others.



Majority of the people going to ´the land of the rising sun´ are found running restaurants, said Chairman of Galkot Society in Japan, Mohan Khatri.[break]



Among the 16 VDCs in the Galkot area, people from around 10 VDCs have made Japan their destination for employment and a majority of them have opened over 500 restaurants in Japan, said Chairman Khatri.



Khatri said Nepali people, who have gone to Japan in search of jobs have achieved success in business but those going there in recent days are facing challenges finding jobs.
