Baby girl diagnosed with dengue fever

TULSIPUR (Dang), Aug 21: A case of dengue fever has been detected in Bhalubhang of Dang.



The dengue virus has been detected on a two-year-old baby girl Basanti. According to the family source, symptoms of dengue fever such as night fever, headache and loss of appetite were seen on her and she was taken to the local health clinic.[break]



But, she could not be treated there and was referred to the Butwal-based Amda Hospital. The hospital also could not diagnose the problem and she was rushed to the Kanti Child Hospital in the capital.



According to her father Gopal Rakaya Magar, the hospital confirmed the dengue virus on her. It costs Rs. 25,000 daily for her treatment, he said. The virus of dengue is transmitted by mosquitoes.
