Baburam Bhattarai withdraws candidacy for HoR election

According to his secretariat, candidates from other political parties requested Bhattarai to withdraw from the race and instead assume the role of a guardian.

KATHMANDU, Jan 23: Former Prime Minister Dr Baburam Bhattarai has withdrawn his candidacy from Gorkha–2 for the House of Representatives (HoR) election scheduled for March 5.



According to his secretariat, candidates from other political parties requested Bhattarai to withdraw from the race and instead assume the role of a guardian.

Bhattarai had filed his candidacy representing the Pragatisheel Loktantrik Party.


According to the Election Commission’s schedule, candidates may withdraw their candidacy on Friday between 10 AM and 1 PM.
