At leat 1000 quake victims rescued, sheltered in Tibet

KATHMANDU, May 3 : Tibet government has recused at least one thousand Nepalis and provided shelter in Tibet since the Great Earthquake that destroyed most parts of the nation on Saturday.

Rescued Nepalis have been sheltered at Larche, informed Nepali Consulate Office, Lahsa.


According to the office, many of the injured have been undergoing treatment at Sigatse and Lahsa bazaar.

Likewise, ten persons rescued from Rashuwagadhi area are accomodating at Kerung.

Similarly, In coordination of the consulate office, Nepali society, Tibet has raised around Rs 6 million of aid for the quake victims.

Tibet, a autonomous state of China has pledged assistance of six million Chinese yuan for rescue and rehabilitation.

Tibet Government deputy Benzobasi has expressed deep sympathies to consulate officer Hari Prasad Basyal over the loss of lives by the recent catastrophe.
