Assam Nepali Sahitya meet in March

UDALGURI, Feb 1: The fourth triennial conference of Assam Nepali Sahitya Sabha (ANSS), one of the premiere literary organizations of Nepali speaking population of Assam is going to be held at the Tingrai Charali in Dibrugarh district of Assam from March 25 with a three day literary and cultural agenda.



The main pillar of the conference at the venue was laid Tuesday by KB Chhetry, president of the premiere literary organisation in presence of vice president of the ANSS Tulshi Kafleh, Madan Thapa, general secretary of ANSS and Uddhav Sarmah, Hem Bahadur Chetry,president and general secretary of the reception committee respectively.[break]



Meanwhile, it is made known to Republica, publicity secretary of the statewide literary organisation that Chief Minister of Assam Tarun Gogoi will attend the session on March 27 as chief guest while a good number of literary figures of Neapli literature from Assam, West Bengal and Sikkim states will attend the literary congregation as distinguished guests and appointed speakers respectively.



The ANSS will honour renowned Nepali litterateur Kedar Gurung of Sikkim and KB Nepali of Lumding, Assam with the Asom Nepali Sahitya Sabha Puraskar-2010 award jointly for their lifelong contributions to the Nepali language and literature in India with their creative write ups.



Among many others, Veerbhadra Karki Dholi , a renowned poet of Sikkim, will attend the session as a special guest.The reception committee has made a budget of Rs 2.5 million for the conference.
