The major cantonment at Talbanda and its satellite campus have yet to pay tariff worth Rs. 12.8 million, according to NEA Dhangadi Chief, Subodh Sharma.
Others in the top list of consumers owing payment for power consumption to the NEA include the Kailali Prison Department, Dipendra Police Secondary School and others.
The NEA Dhangadi has also blacklisted its customers, from whom it has to recover tariff worth Rs. 3.7 million. There are reportedly 500 such consumers. The NEA Dhangadi has a total of 27,500 consumers.
The tendency of consumers not paying their tariff regularly is on the rise, and those paying their bills after their connection is severed are around 90 per cent, Sharma said.
