Arniko win school basketball<br/>LRI meet Ullens in final

KATHMANDU, Aug 23: Arniko School won the title of Eighth Kirtipur Inter-school Boys´ Basketball Tournament defeating LRI 47-45 in the competitive final match on Sunday. Prakash Pariyar netted 23 points for the winner while Nimesh Rai of the runner up team top scored with 24 points. [break]



Panga secured the third place beating Rara Hill 49-42. Likewise, Mangal High School won the three and three title defeating Rara Hill 33-24. Roshan Pulami Magar contributed 15 points for the winning side.



Nimesh Rai of LRI was awarded with the highest scorer prize for scoring 125 points in the tournament. Akash Pariyar of the Arniko was adjudged the most valuable player.





LRI meet Ullens in final



KATHMANDU, Aug 23: LRI and Ullens will meet in the final of the Fifth Monsoon Meet Senior Boys´ Basketball Tournament.



In the semifinal match held on Sunday LRI outplayed Pennwood 77-45 and Ullens beat Sambotta 69-54. Bishal Tamang netted 20 points for LRI and Kisan Nepali contributed 22 points for Ullens.



Shuvatara secured spot for the final place under senior girl´s category. Riding on the 20 points of Lunava Singh Subhatara beat Teresa 30-29 in the competitive semifinal match.



Likewise, in junior boys´ category, Gyanodaya ousted Galaxy 28-23 to book place for final. Ayush Shrestha contributed 17 points for Gyanodaya.
