Army won the toss and invited Kathmandu to bat first at the TU Cricket Ground in Kirtipur. Man-of-the-match Lokendra Chand and Rahul Vishwakarma claimed three wickets each to skittle Kathmandu for 81 runs in 18.5 overs. [break]
Rupesh Shrivastav took two wickets and Chandra Sawad dismissed one batsman. Pawan Shrestha (19 runs), Suraj KC (19 runs) and Bibhatsu Thapa (17 runs) were the top three scorers for Kathmandu. The rest of the batsmen failed to reach double figures.
In reply, Nepal Army reached 84 in 10.2 overs without losing any wicket as openers Sagar Pun and Anil Mandal remained unbeaten to seal a comfortable victory. Pun scored 37 runs off 32 balls with four fours and a six. Mandal hit a run-a-ball 32, which included three fours and a six. Kathmandu gave away 15 runs as extras.
In a contest between two eliminated teams, Region No 1 (Biratnagar) defeated Region No 8 (Pokhara) by 19 runs.
Biratnagar reached 131/6 in 20 overs as Sunny Pun scored 51 runs off 57 balls and Mehboob Alam hit 22 runs off 11 balls. Man-of-the-match Pun struck six fours and a six while Alam hit two sixes and a four. Dipesh Khatri claimed three wickets for Pokhara and Sushil Kandel picked up two.
Chasing the total, Pokhara could manage only 112/6 in 20 overs despite Khatri´s unbeaten 55 runs off 43 balls and Rijan Prajoo´s 35 runs off 42 balls. Anup Karki, Pushpa Thapa, Suresh Guragain, Manjeet Shrestha and Mehboob Alam claimed a wicket each for Biratnagar.
