President Yadav, who is also the supreme commander-in-chief of NA, said, “The international community has been praising the Nepal Army for their excellent professional competencies demonstrated by troops deployed in the UN peacekeeping force.”[break]
NA on Monday marked its annual army day by organizing various programs at the army pavilion in Tudikhel.
Similarly, Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai praised the army personnel for their contributions in maintaining world peace. He also said that the role of NA in development activities and natural resources conservation were praiseworthy too.

Similarly, Chief of Army Staff (CoAS) Chhatra Man Singh Gurung expressed his commitment to continue serving for national interest and defend national sovereignty for the welfare of Nepali people.
Apart from the president and the prime minister, the program was attended by Vice-President Paramananda Jha, Constituent Assembly Chair Subas Nembang, Defense Minister Bijay Kumar Gachchhadar, several ministers and dignitaries.

The army personnel demonstrated Shivaratri Badhain (FEU-de-JOIE), parades, march past and a display of its band, vehicles and equipment and military skill shows. President Yadav gave away awards to the winners of competitive events organized during the occasion.
