Apex to host PU football tourney

KATHMANDU: Student clubs of Apex College are organizing Suzuki Motorcycle Second Pokhara University Inter-college Football Tournament from Friday in Kathmandu. The student clubs organized a press conference on Monday and informed that altogether 16 teams -- 12 from Kathmandu and four from Pokhara -- are to participate in the tournament.



The tournament will end on March 16. All the matches of the tournament will be played at the Nepal Police Training Academy, Maharajgunj. The winner of the tournament will receive Rs 35,000 while the runner-up will get Rs 20,000. The best player of the tournament will receive Rs 5,000. According to Mandeep Karna, spokesperson for the tournament, Apex is the defending champion of the first edition of the tournament, which was organized by Ace Institute of Management in 2010.
