The duo injured during last month’s First Prime Minister Cup, which Nepal won by beating Sri Lanka in tie-breakers, lost fitness test ahead of the match.
Nepali coach Yugambar Suwal confirmed that they won’t be in Nepal’s playing side. He added that Nepal would play to win and qualify for the final round.
In absence of Anjan and Bishan, Chetan Ghimire and Rohit Chand will make their senior international debut. Nepal police striker Chetan will replace Bishan in the right wings while Rohit will replace left back Anjan. Rohit is an ANFA Academy product and the first player to be in the national side from U-17 squad. Apart from Anjan and Bishan, Nepal will field its Prime Minister Cup winning team today.
Bikash Malla would be at the goal post whereas captain Rakesh Shrestha along with Sagar Thapa, Biraj Maharjan and Rohit Chand would be guarding the defense line.
Bijay Gurung, Sandip Rai, Raju Tamang and Chetan Ghimire will be in the midfield behind the striker duo of Anil Gurung and Jumanu Rai.
Both coaches were reluctant to reveal their strategy and said ´you will know tomorrow´ in unison while talking to the press on Wednesday.
Nepal and Palestine are locking horns for the first time at the senior level and know little about each other probably forcing the teams into caution mode.
Nepal has played Palestine in 2003 in Olympic Qualifiers though and the Nepali U-23 side lost both the matches. The match between Nepal and Palestine will start at 3 pm (0915 GMT) at the Dasharath Stadium.
