KATHMANDU, Sept 4: The next generation Pulsar 200NS has hit the Nepali roads. Hansraj Hulaschand & Company on Tuesday introduced the premier sport bike from the Bajaj stable in the Nepali market.

According to the company, the newly introduced bike is the world´s first bike with triple spark engine technology. [break]Triple spark technology provides fast and optimal combustion, thereby increasing performance and efficiency.

A press statement issued by the company said combustion with triple spark technology is 27 percent faster than twin spark and 50 percent faster than a single spark engine.

Bajaj has given a bit different look to Pulsar 200NS compared to other Pulsar bikes. The new Pulsar features predator-like headlamps, broad fuel tank and high tail light. It gives a maximum power of 23.52 PS at the rate of 9500 rpm and maximum torque of 18.3 Nm at the rate of 8000 rpm. The new bike gives a maximum speed of 136 km per hour.

The bike is equipped with 4-valve engine with two intake and two exhaust valves that enables better pick-up. It features 6-speed gearbox that ensures great performance across the entire rpm band that provides the riders with real sports bike experience.

“These sporty iconic motorcycles have been a testimony to the company´s engineering prowess. The Pulsar 200NS showcases next leap in technology and design and will set the standard for others to follow,” Shekhar Golchha, executive director of HH Bajaj, said in the statement.

The new Pulsar has nitrox mono suspension that provides greater stability and comfort for both the rider as well as the pillion on all road conditions. “In addition to that, the underbelly exhaust provides the bike with a better mass centralization which ensures brilliant handling, cornering ability and greater stability,” the statement added. The bike has petal disc brakes in both front and rear wheels.

“We´ve sold more than 100,000 Pulsars in the market and have been the leader in sports segment with more than 55 percent market share,” Chiranjivi Shah, deputy general manager of HH Baja said, adding, “Earlier the segment was largely limited to big cities. Nowadays, we are getting good demand from smaller towns as well.” Shah said they expect the Pulsar 200NS to do extremely well in “this demanding market”.

The new Pulsar is available in four attractive colors -- saffire blue, tosca red, cherry blue and mustard yellow -- at a special launching price of Rs 264,900 valid for a limited period.
