The other arrested are Prakash Pariyar, 20, Sushil Rokaya, 20, Prem Tamang, 21, and Minur Tamang, 29. According to the plan, Prakash, Prem and Minur had entered the bank posing as customers and looted more than Rs 20 million from the bank last Friday evening by disrupting the CCTV surveillance system at the bank.
According to police, the robbers had spent more than one hour in the bank pretending to fill out vouchers before taking out fake guns out of their bags. Taking security guards, branch manager and cashiers under control they had robbed the sum.
Police said the modus operandi of the robbery made them suspect that it was an inside job and they intensified their investigation accordingly. After the robbery, Prakash had kept the money at the residence of Amar, the driver, and later Minur, Sushil and Praksh and Prem fled to Kathmandu.
The robbery plan was made in Kathmandu when Khagendra Basnet had visited Kathmandu in search of the criminal group who could assist in bank robbery. Together with Sushil, a student in Kathmandu, they developed the plan in different phases.
