KATHMANDU, Oct 28: Multiple flights have been affected due to adverse weather condition today at the Tribhuvan International Airport.
Both domestic and international flights have been delayed due to reduced visibility given the adverse adverse weather conditions, said Hansa Raj Pandey, the General Manager at TIA.
As a result, international flights had to be put on hold for some time. Flights to Tenzing Hillary Airport in Lukla, Simikot Airport in Humla and other airports in the mountainous region have been reported to be generally affected. Pandey said that due to bad weather, only Instrument Flight Rules (IFR) flights are currently operating at the airport.
He added that although some flights were delayed, the situation was not such that requiring cancellation. Due to a fixed air route, the usual traffic on flights has increased. According to the Meteorological Forecasting Division, the sky over the Kathmandu Valley has been cloudy since morning.
